MMA

Many people that don’t know what MMA is ask exactly what is MMA?
Where did MMA come from?
Why did MMA start?
Well, it started because of the human urge to prove themselves to be the best. The natural urge to compete.
Gracie Jujitsu is largely responsible if not solely responsible for the beginning of MMA. The Gracie’s in Brazil is a well known martial arts family who specialize in Jujitsu. Their style of Jujitsu relies largely on ground fighting to finish there opponents.
Before MMA and the UFC was ever dreamed of the Gracies would wave a $10,000 dollar check and challenge any martial artist to beat them. They had many many matches and never gave up that check. Now as you can imagine this grew into the UFC and brought all types of martial arts into the ring to display their skills. It has been an awesome showcase and some people don’t like it but the interest in this still rather new art is astronomical!!!
We at Culver Karate have launched our MMA program on Oct 28th in Connellsville, PA. We are happy to be part of this martial arts movement. We offer a wide range of skill building classes. We offer Little Ninjas for the little kids 4 to 6 yr olds. We offer Traditional Shotokan Karate for the general population and we also offer aerobic kickboxing classes for the people that want a great workout with a little punch and a lot of KICK!!!
I’ve taught Karate for 30 years and am excited about this new class!!
If you know anyone who would like this type of training let them know that it is now available!
