Circle of Family and Friends

I’ve been training in Shotokan Karate for 30 yrs. and  still feel like a student.  On May 30th 2010, I just reached another  milestone, Sixth degree black belt.  Sunday, my wife, my dad, my mother, my oldest son and some of my students went to the Kumite Classic Karate Tournament in Monroeville PA and watched me be presented the rank of 6th degree black belt.  The thing that impressed me most was that my family and friends were there.  It’s your circle of family and friends that matter most in the long run.  I was looking at several hundred facess in the crowd and several hundred others that were there for the karate, grappling, MMA and many other events that were going on.  I was presented the award by Shihan William Viola of Allegheny Shotokan Karate of Irwin, PA.  I’d like to thank everyone who went and everyone that acknowledged my advanced.  I’ve had a great time coming up through the ranks and wouldn’t trade a minute of it.  The great fun and friends that come from a positive experience like karate is awesome.
