New Years Resolution

Yep, that time of year again. Time to think about what we’ve accomplished over the last year. Did you keep your resolutions from last year. Do you even remember what they were? Most people are in the habit of making resolutions and then by the end of January they are gone. That becomes the habit instead of the habit we want to do. I’m still working on my resolution from last year. I should’ve accomplished it by now but I didn’t forget it. Yeah, you guessed it! Last year I resolved to loose weight. Did I? Yep! Still at it. I have another one for next year, too!
I’ve made resolutions many times and if you do it right, a resolution can be an awesome motivator. How do we do make a good resolution?
1. Make a resolution: That is important to you!
2. Make a resolution: That you can achieve!
3. Make a resolution: That you can stick too!
4. Make a plan!
5. Write it down!
6. Quantify it! How soon, how much and when!!!
7. Pick a resolution that is sensible!
8. Don’t quit! If you back slide start over! You didn’t loose anything, just reset your dates, amounts, time periods, whatever.
9. If you’re really serious, announce it. Sometimes others will laugh. Sometimes that good though. Most of all, internalize it!
10. Sometimes it helps to have a team or make a contest with others. Like a weight loss contest. A one month contest or something simple will jump start a weight lose resolution.
11. Most importantly, have fun, but achieve all if not part of your resolution.

Remember, half way there is half of something that you hadn’t done up to this point anyway. Don’t loose motivation.
Make it a QUEST!

Have a great 2011.

If you can conceive it, and believe it, then you can achieve it!
