Basics Basics Basics

Yep, here I go again talking about basics.

I play some golf.  Anyone that has ever golfed with me would fall down laughing at me saying that.  Is that what you call it, golf?  Well I try to golf just enough to remain a terrible danger to our friends the trees.

Enough about my expertise at golf.  Even the most novice golfer, I know I know, that would be me.  Anyway, the most inexperienced novice golfer soon realizes there is something called basics.  You don’t drive a ball a dozen different ways.  You do it the right way.  If you are on a quest to learn advanced basic golfing, good luck knucklehead.  In golf there is just basics.  Stance (Hmmm, there are stances in karate), how you close your hand, (in karate too), where you look while hitting (hmmm, also in karate), proper use of hips (absolutely in karate) and of course proper follow through or what you do after hitting (yes, yes and yes in karate).

Sensei are you trying to tell me that there is nothing but basics and that a good golfer is just better at basics and in karate there is nothing but basics and that a master has done nothing more than mastered the basics?

Yes Grasshopper you have learned much!
