Goal Setting – Black Belt Ladder of Success

Karate teaches kids and adults how to be expert goalsetters.
Parents should be aware of the lessons of goal setting that karate teaches their children.
We all know the value of setting goals.
Karate is one of the best things to teach goal setting.
To achieve anything worthwhile one must:
Set an achievable major goal.
Have a plan.
Have a series of minor goals.
Have a mentor.
Reassess our progress on regular intervals and readjust or reset our minor goals.

Karate provides the following Goal Setting Format:
The Black Belt is a major goal.
The Karate System, the Instructor’s Curriculum and the Belt System are the plan.
Each Belt is a minor goal.
The Instructor is the mentor.
Each test is a chance to reassess their progress and reset their focus on their next minor goal with the help of their mentor.

The belt system of karate is like a ladder of success.
