MMA?

I’ve gotten calls from people that want MMA.  They ask do you teach MMA?  Do you teach BJJ?  Do you teach cage fighting?  I think sometimes people are looking for an excuse not to train.  MMA means Mixed Martial Arts.  Martial Arts are Karate and Jiu Jitsu.  Until recently no one would’ve included wrestling and boxing even though I would.  Yep, wrestling is a Martial Art with the strikes eliminated.  Is boxing a Martial Art?  Yep, it’s a Martial with no ground fighting.  Over the years there’s been boxers that beat black belts in both Karate and Jiu Jitsu.  Wrestlers have beaten black belts and even street fighters have beaten all of the above.  On the other hand I’ve had Black Belts that have been challenged by wrestlers and they came out on top.  The funnyest instance was when my Black Belt pulled of the waist band of the wrestlers underwear while he was trying to take him down and my guy proceeded to choke him with the waist band.  Hysterical but it proved a point.  You don’t take a knife to a gun fight and anythings fair in a street match.  At least my Black Belt didn’t kick his teeth out.

Anyways, the point is if you want to do MMA then get some training.  I know some local guys that do some stuff on their own and one guy told me he was an expert.  He’d never been in the ring.  He’d never been in a dojo and his Martial Arts training came from a few guys that were not much more than novices themselves.  His grappling experience was from watching tv and videos and rolling around with his brother, probably breaking furniture in the process.

If you want to do MMA then get Karate training Jiu Jitsu training and then train your butt off with all different forms of conditioning.  We offer some awesome classes in Karate and Jiu Jitsu and Fitness.  It’s up to you to get here.
